CONFERENCE TRAVEL
The Kona Keahole International Airport services the island of Hawaii, known as the Big Island. Airlines that fly to Hawaii include American, United, Continental, Hawaiian, and Japan Airlines. In addition, all major airlines fly into the neighboring island of Oahu (the Honolulu International Airport) and then you can take a 20 minute flight to the Big Island from there on the interisland airplanes: Hawaiian Air, Mokulele, Go, and Island Air.
The airport is about a 20 minute drive (8 miles) from the town of Kailua-Kona.
TAXIS
There are taxis near the baggage claim at the airport. An average fare from the airport to Kailua-Kona is US$45.
Taxis are available in all areas of the Big Island. All taxis are metered, beginning at $3 when you get in and $3.10 cents each mile. In Kona, there are many taxi services, including:

Departure Fares (to airport): $32.74 for one person, $35.26 for two, $37.79 for three people, and $40.30 for four in one shuttle. Additional 10% discount for return leg of round trips. Call for reservations at least 48 hours in advance.
